Tithing Declaration (Sept 1 - Dec 13)
All members and families are invited to meet with Bishop Berry for their annual tithing declaration. This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your blessings and express gratitude to the Lord. You are encouraged to attend whether or not you pay tithing. Sunday appointments take place at church. Thursday appointments take place via Zoom.

Temple Names - Our Ward Temple and Family History Consultant, Brother Don Hammon has created a special group and link for The Sunset Ward. This will allow those who have too many names or can't go to the temple and do the work themselves for whatever reason, the opportunity to add those names to this LINK so their temple work can be completed. Ward members can also use any of the names listed as well.
Choir Practice – There will be no choir practice during the month of August. Choir practice will resume on the last Sunday of the month, August 30th, 2026 at 9.00am. Choir rehearsals are on Sundays at 9.00 a.m. We meet upstairs in the Relief Society room. Please contact Paul Mann for additional information.
Ward Pickleball Night - Friday's, 7pm at the church. Pickleball night is for everyone! Bring your friends. This is a chance to build new friendships and strengthen old ones.

Initiative - Women and Children Initiative: The General Relief Society Presidency has launched an initiative to support projects to help in the development of 12 million children ages 5 and younger and 2.7 million expectant and new mothers in 12 countries. As part of this initiative, they have published 25 Ways that members in congregations around the world can support mothers and children.

Temple Hill - The Oakland temple often hosts cultural and other worshipful events. Please click here for a list of events.
Background checks - California state law requires background checks for anyone who works with children or youth more than 32 hours a year. Details on how to do this are in an email from the stake. If you haven't received it, a member of the bishopric can forward it to you.
Building cleaning: Our ward is responsible for building cleaning in January, February, April, May, July, August, October, and November (the Chinese branch will clean the other months). We clean on Saturday mornings at 8:45 am and finish by 9:45 am. Brother Cary Young has made assignments. If you haven't received an assignment, please contact Brother Young, or show up on a Saturday morning and introduce yourself to Brother Young.
Widespread use of zoom for Sacrament meeting concluded in February 2022: If you believe you should maintain access to sacrament meeting via Zoom (we understand there are various valid reasons), kindly let the bishop know.
